You’re not interested in blending in or doing the same shit everyone else is doing, you’re too busy writing your own damn rules, making an impact and showing up unapologetically ready to be seen.
Think of me as your funnest, most loving, open and unfiltered friend who also happens to make you look iconic.
I’m a Perth gal, born and raised. Growing up in a big (and loud) Italian family meant that I was often surrounded by people but to be honest I felt alone, and like most creatives, misunderstood. And like most understood people I became obsessed with truly seeing people. Not just what’s on the surface but the messy, beautiful, intricate stuff that makes you, you.
I spent years travelling, moving around and hopping from job to job. Eventually I found myself in a steady Government type role, you know the ones that come with a desk and a nameplate (I was just as shocked as you are!) It was cute for a while, until the creative itch came back. The creative fire? Didn’t stay quiet for long.
Back in 1995, I enrolled in a Photomedia degree, and it only took me 10 years to finish (don’t judge me, I was busy living). At the time I was a dreadlocked, redheaded drummer in a riot girl punk band and photographing the creatives and misfits around me. It was chaotic, raw, real and I LOVED it.
I picked up a camera at 12 and started documenting my friends like we were living inside a 90s grunge film clip. All through high school I kept shooting them on my trusty (and stolen) Pentax K1000, soaking up every raw, unfiltered moment on film - not realising I was training my eye, my heart, and my whole way of seeing people long before I ever knew this would become my world.
It turns out I wasn’t just good at it, I took it upon myself to help shape the entire industry. Becoming one of the top birth photographers in the country, and I even played a part in getting Zuckerburg to change the outdated rules on Facebook around sharing breastfeeding images. Rule breaker. Feminist. Change Maker - Guilty as charged!
In 2011 after the homebirth of my second baby, everything shifted. That birth cracked something open in me and my birth photography business was born right alongside my daughter. I started capturing women in their most powerful, primal and vulnerable moments and I lived for it.
Over the years I’ve also coached hundreds of photographers across Australia. Helping them own their magic, sharpen their craft and build bold, brave businesses that light them the F up.
Ready when you are!
Which brings me to today, now, where I’ve taken everything I have learned from 20+ years behind the lens and bring it to every single shoot. With me, you’ll feel held. Free to show up as you and all that you are.
And from that space? We’ll create editorial, magnetic images that feel like you, on your best day, doing what you were born to do.
Shall we get straight to the part where I’m your creative director, hyping you up as we collaborate and bring your bold hearted vision to life?
